Before the finished thing
The Floor is a room for work to be made, shown, tested and shared before it becomes anything else.
It sits close to the studio and close to the public. A project can arrive as a sketch, a conversation, a gathering, a residency or a temporary installation.
Connected, not collapsed
The Floor sits in conversation with Sketchy Shona and Countercult, but it is not a department of either. It has its own pace, programme and way of holding people together.
The room is useful because it can stay unfinished for a while. That is where the next form usually starts.
