How Money Moves Through the Countercult Fund.
Each sale of a chosen product adds to a growing marketing budget. Countercult brings the curation, logistics, and production experience to commission local creative work.
Follow the Countercult Fund from sale to commission. A culture euro is added to a chosen product; as customers buy it, a budget for the business's marketing or experience needs grows. Countercult supplies the trust, curation, and production experience to turn those sales into paid local work.
1. Choose a product and culture euro
A business chooses the product it wants to connect to local creative work: perhaps a menu item, ticket, room night, membership, or another product it already sells. The business and Countercult agree the amount to add to each sale. The amount is tailored to the product and the work the growing budget is meant to make possible.
They also agree how sales and contributions will be recorded before anything launches. That practical arrangement matters for trust: Countercult does not claim automatic sales tracking or verification that has not been put in place.
2. Sales grow the marketing budget
Each sale adds to the Fund. As customers buy more of the chosen product, the marketing or experience budget grows toward a scope that can support paid work. Depending on the brief, that might be a commission, a programme, research, production, or another useful local experience.
This is more than a decorative donation line. The source of the budget is clear, the business knows what it wants the budget to support, and Countercult can shape a brief around the amount that has accumulated instead of promising work it cannot yet deliver.
3. Countercult turns the budget into a brief
Countercult works with the business to define a realistic brief around what its marketing needs and what the local context can support. This is a conversation informed by business and production experience, not an automatic payout or a list of whoever is most visible.
The work could involve a local artist, photographer, writer, musician, producer, workshop leader, cultural space, or independent operator. Countercult's curation helps find the right match, establish clear terms, and keep the brief useful to both the business and the people making the work.
4. The right creative workers are matched to a real brief
Matching is not the same as browsing a talent directory. Countercult draws on its local relationships to assess what the brief needs, what each artist does, where they are based, and whether the commission makes sense for the place and the business.
The brief sets out the work, audience, timeline, production conditions, rights, fees, and what delivery means. Artists should be able to decide whether the opportunity is right for them before agreeing to it.
5. The work is paid and delivered
The Fund creates paid demand, not requests for artists to donate authenticity in exchange for exposure. Each creative worker is commissioned for defined work with an agreed fee and practical conditions.
Countercult manages the curation, communication, scheduling, logistics, and production around the work, so the business does not have to run another project itself. The artist's expertise, time, authorship, and right to clear terms stay central throughout delivery.
6. The result is recorded and reported
A serious model needs a record of the agreed per-sale amount and recording arrangement, the work commissioned, the creative workers involved, and the outcomes that can responsibly be shared. Agree the sales record before the contribution begins, then report proportionately on the work it supports.
That does not mean turning artists or communities into public data points. Reporting should be consent-based and clear about what remains private. The record helps the model learn without letting a business claim ownership over a living cultural context.
What the Fund does not currently do
Countercult is not currently a bank, lender, payment processor, or regulated financial institution. The Fund does not currently offer loans, advances, deposits, investment products, automatic sales verification, or consumer financial services. It is an artist-run commissioning and delivery agency that helps a culture-euro contribution grow into paid local work. The contribution and recording arrangements are agreed with each business before launch.
The Fund is a practical question: can ordinary product sales build a marketing budget and a clear route to paid local work, while strengthening the circular economy without flattening the people and places involved?
